Skipping a Grade
By Jerry

Clip to ScrapBook
I also am a December child, and started 1st Grade at age 5. (I started my Senior year at age 16!) While I don't regret it from the Friends aspect,in fact all these many years later my two best friends are classmates, I think
I would have been better off waiting until I was 6 before starting 1st grade. I was small, and sickly, and got picked on a lot. Getting into athletics was my salvation from that - I had plenty of BIG football friends. However, looking back, it seems that I was always more immature than my classmates. I never really grew up until I was 21 and joined the army. After that, I knew what
I wanted, how I was going to get it, and a lot more focused. The previous post gives you a lot to think about, and your answers to those questions should guide you. Hang in there! You've got many, many years in front of you - what's the big hurry?Jn
