I guess I've never heard of a 132% average...your kids must have tons of opportunities for extra credit??? We use Grade Quick to keep track of grades and when we print out grade reports for midterms it lists the percentage, total # of points earned, max. # of points and a letter grade. I really like this, but if I were doing it by hand, I'd just stick with a letter grade as much as possible. That's how we did it before we used the software.
I think once a student has over 100%, it really doesn't matter how much over, so I don't think the # particularly matters.
