Functional Behavioral Analysis
By Sixtiesbabe

Clip to ScrapBook
It sounds like sitting up front is working.
I would collaborate with the IEP team for specific behavioral interventions. Someone needs to help you take data first... do what is called a functional behavioral analysis (FBA)and develop a behavior intervention plan (BIP). The school psych and sp ed teacher are familiar with these. In the meantime, give her plently of positive reinforcement when she is quiet. "I like how softly you spoke just then," "I like how quiet you are working," etc. Good luck.
