blood splatter patterns
By Wendy

Clip to ScrapBook
althougth I've never actually done this experiment it does sound interesting. Make a red, slightly visous liquid out of water, karo syrup, and red food coloring. It is supposed to represent blood. Using a ruler and pipette (eye dropper) drop a single droplet from various heights onto construction paper. Measure the width of the splatter. Record data in table form and then make a line graph. Students will then be able to tell how far a drop of blood fell by knowing the width of the splatter.
