Money Game
By Jodi

Clip to ScrapBook
One game that my second grade students enjoy playing uses dice and play money. You determine the amount of money they play to, say $.50 or $1.00, or your set amount (for fun, the number of days you have been in school).

How it's played= partners play against each other #1 goes and rolls two dice. They add the amount on the two dice and grab that much money. Then player #2 rolls and adds their numbers together to determine how much money they take. They continue doing this until they reach your set amount of money. The fun part in this game for them is that they get to trade in their money, for example,

their 5 pennies for a nickel and so on. There are many ways to adapt this, and I have found that my students really look forward to playing it. I hope it helps or gives you some idea for a game.
