Good advice
By Cathy-Dee

Clip to ScrapBook
The last poster had good advice. I do not work on a reserve school myself but I'm in an area with primarily native children so I do understand some of those ups and downs. We have more control over what happens on staff
because we are not on a reserve. I have a few colleagues who are and I have heard about some of their ups and downs over the years.

In your situation there is probably nothing you can do to "help" in this case other than to be there if she wants to talk. I agree that the best course would be to just mention that you missed her while she was away. Unfortunately there are many on the

reserve who have things stacked against them and it takes a lot of effort on their part to overcome some of those things. And while it's great you have a good relationship with her, etc., be cautious how far you tread into that relationship as I've seen it backfire on some of my friends as well.
