Clip to ScrapBook
Hi Ros,
I do have to say that each poorly behaved native student is like three "normal" students. However, not all native schools have poorly behaved students. Some schools actually have very polite, quiet ones, but
these ones are the same ones who don't attend frequently and are lower academically. If you like working for native schools why don't you work for a public division with native schools. There are a few. I feel for you with CBC coming, I personally wouldn't say anything. Sometimes you just can't win in this kind of situation. I also think if you were at a little larger school
you could make a few friends, because there are more students. I know many many teachers who work at native school (in a public division) but up north who love what they are doing and would never teach anywhere else. Also just because you have been teaching at a native school doesn't mean that you can't go to a "white school". You just might have to sub for a while. Good luck with your decisions and email me if you want to talk more.
