Letter Recognition
By Evelyn S. Lansche

Clip to ScrapBook
A rhyme to teach the difference between i and l:
i has a dot,
l does not.

In order to know what a V and W are, the following works:

I teach V by holding up 2 fingers for a V,
and say,
"V for Victory!"

In the rhyme for W, I hold up a V on each
hand, and say as I join my 2 "pointer"
fingers,

"It takes just 2,
for W."

Since I am not sure how simple you want to get, I thought you might be interested in these ideas. The objects are available to

make the lessons more concrete.

B for bumble"bee"
C-a-p spells Cap.

empty deodorant container under their arm.)
