I think it depends
By Cathy-Dee

Clip to ScrapBook
I think it can be difficult to move up or down grades either way depending on how long you stay in that grade. However if you are moving grades within your school you often have much better chances of moving to other grades
than if you are changing schools. Sometimes the thinking is that if you have been teaching K or grade 1 for a number of years (I would think at least 4 or 5 years), that you wouldn't be as good with classroom management with older grades for example. But I know many teachers who have moved into a number of different grades over the years. I would take the position if you think you
will enjoy teaching kindergarten and take it from there. Many people change grades during their first few years of teaching, but some find a grade they enjoy and stay there.
