M and M

When I started my student teaching I did an activity with M and Ms. It took about 15-20 minutes but the kids really enjoyed it (6th grade). Just buy a big bag of M and Ms and have each color represent a fun fact about themselves. Like red could be a hobbie, blue could be their favorite sport. Then go to each desk and pour 3-4 out. Whatever color they get is what they have to tell you about themselves. This was good because I learned something about them, thier name, and they got to eat. There is nothing better than feeding middle schoolers! Then I did each color so that they could find out about me!
