What is Good Morning Judge? Last year we played Four Corners sometimes. You give each corner of the room a number (1,2,3 or 4). Then you shut your eyes (or have a student caller if you don't trust them) and give them| 10 seconds to tiptoe to a corner of the room. Call out a number (e.g. "2"). Anyone in Corner 2 is "out" and has to sit down. Anyone who talks is automatically out. Keep playing until one student is left. My class loves to play a blackboard version of "Scattergories". I write 5 categories on the board (e.g. Fruit, Boy's Name, Country, Movie Title, Animal), and then give them a letter | | (e.g. "S"). They have 2 minutes to get as many as they can (e.g. Strawberry, Steven, Sweden,...) Then (if you have a cooperative class) you score it- we have one person give an answer. If you have the same answer, you raise your hand (no talking). So everyone with that answer gets no point. If no one puts up their hand, give yourself 1 point. We like to play "Fingers" too during Math. (We made it up.) You give a math question to two students whose answer is between 0 and 9. The first to show you the answer with their fingers stands up at their desk. Play everyone and then go back to those still standing until just one person is left standing. For grade 4/5, we do questions like "36 / 9", "4 + 4", "8 X 2 - 10".
