I am in a very priveleged position at the moment with regard to teachers who are committed to the job and the children. In a school with a teaching staff of 25 I would say that all but one or two are committed to the job, go the extra mile, always take work home, care about the kids. This means that even the one or two who would like to get away with things get carried along with their colleagues.
On the other hand several years ago, this would not have been the case, due in part to low morale and a principal who was coming to the end of his career. it is difficult if you are one of the few with enthusiasm | |
for the job.
I am really thankful to be in this position. Long may it continue and for those of you who feel disillusioned with your colleagues, I hope things improve for you very soon.
