What a fun plan! My first gradres are REALLY enjoying poetry right now, and have memorized a few easy poems. I wonder if you could intersperse them in the play, like commercials? I was thinking that any play first graders could handle would be brief--poems could add some length. And my kids have some favorite poems they just roll with laughter over. Things by Brod Bagert, Jack Prelutsky, and Shel Silverstein are favorites. Email me if you'd like titles. Good luck and have fun!
