homeworkopoly in my class
By lisa

Clip to ScrapBook
I just started after the Christmas break with my fourth grade class. I nailed the board onto a bulletin board and I use mini clothes pins with each student's name for the pieces. We take the first 15 minutes of every morning to play...and they must have their homework out and ready when their name is pulled from the can, or they miss their roll. It has really motivated the kids who never turned in work, and those that always did like that they are rewarded for it. I am planning on slowly weening them off of it, as it should be something that they do without a reward...so I am going to start drawing a play/not today card each day...then it is a 50/50 chance that they will play and they have to be ready, just in case!?! We'll see how it works!
