I enjoy reading, lot's. Everything from politics to anthropology (note: thats the second time I read the word vapid today, once reading Naom and now your post). I thought I would be able to enter into a dialogue of thought provoking exchanges with my coworkers. I thought I knew what to expect when I started down the road of education as a career. I too did not see the vapid waste land on the horizon. How can something such as ignorance exist back to back with education? Mediocrity is the standard. That scares me.
