Grace..I have to agree with your point

I was the poster who disagreed with putting uncertified teachers in classrooms. But, your point is well taken. I teach at the elementary level. But, I do agree with bringing professionals in a field into the classroom.| I do think they need to be trained in classroom managment, lesson planning, teaching strategies, learning styles, etc.. before they take on the responsibity of students and curriculum. I believe a "real" chemist is a super choice for a chemistry teacher. But, there is alot of difference from the lab to the classroom and they should be prepared. level are responbible for all content areas, young children, and a serious state accountability system.oh, well..Until we can fill our classrooms with trained teachers, this is a good option. At least these Teach for America's are book smart. Kay
