certified teachers in teach for america
By Grace

Clip to ScrapBook
Caroline,
I read a book about the start of Teach for America. Its called One Day, All Children..The Unlikely Triumph of Teach for America and What I Learned Along the Way by Wendy Kopp. The author is who started the program.
I got the book at Half Price Books. My understanding from reading the book is that it is only young recent college graduates from colleges like Princeton, Yale, Harvard, Stanford, ect.
One more comment to the person who said she didn't support putting non-certified teachers in a classroom. I agree to some point. I don't think its fair for someone who didn't go to college to
be able to be a teacher. But I know at the highschool level there's the alternative certification program. And many of those teachers had a major that is somewhat related to the subject that they teach. I had an excellent English teacher my senior year of highschool who taught under the ACP program.
