Hey there. My Morning Workshop is just a short conglomeration of stuff. They have 3 sentences to correct, 3-4 Math problems that we are currently working on, a Workshop Board (3 at a time can visit) that has a variety of| stuff such as a maps(road, city, state, country, etc.)to find locations, grocery ads and problems to work(I have $5. How many gallons of milk can I buy? What is my change if I buy 3 packs of tater tots? etc.) Read the Room, Write the Room(I will ask them to write the third computer rule, choice #2 for lunch, the last line of the Star Spangled Banner, etc.) There are a lot more ideas | | but I don't do ALL of this in one day. It is just a short review basically. I also have a "Tools For Learning" chart that sometimes I give them a problem and they just have to tell me what "tool" they would use to find the answer(ex. encyclopedia, math board, clock, their senses, etc.) Just to get them looking for an answer instead of relying on someone to give them the answer. Some days it might require them to get out of their seat to find an answer and sometimes not. If it does require them to get up, I have a rule that only three to an area at a time. It is basically a twist on Morning Board Work. My kids love it! I have picked up a lot of ideas from this board that I have incorporated over time into the Morning Workshop. Then we have about 20 min. of Morning Meeting (described below) . Is this clear as mud now?? I hope you can make sense of it! I will be happy to explain anything in detail if you need me to. Have a good night!
