I use carpet squares

I use carpet squares to convene a class meeting or to occasionally read a story. My principal has just implemented a writer's workshop where a story sets the tone so my fourth graders get their squares and go to the front of the room. Truthfully, I don't have room for a carpet and I don't think I'd designate an area if I did have the room. The kids like the carpet squares and they're easy to keep from year to year.
