Good resources
By Martha

Clip to ScrapBook
I use big sheets of butcher paper to make classroom webbings, graphic organizers, etc. about the different themes that we are discussing. As we're studying the theme, the kids can refer back to these because I leave them
hanging up in the room. We also use the packs of manilla and construction paper to make "big books" about the theme---they could either use the webbing, etc. to write their own entries for the book, or. . ..if you teach the lower grades . . they could dictate the story/information to you as you scribe it on chart paper. Then, assign each student a sentence to copy and illustrate for their
page in the book. Creative Teaching Press has a couple of really good resource books: "Alternatives to Worksheets" (grades K-4) and "More Alternatives to Worksheets" (grades K-4).
