How long to spend

We have had an experience this year of a new harder state test in 3rd grade and working to meet benchmark deadlines. "They" decided that we have to get in everything on the benchmark. We were flying through math a lesson a day and nobody fully understood anything. I just said no and put a stop to the madness. I am teaching and reteaching for as long as it takes. I'd rather them know some things well than to know alot of things a little. I am almost willing to bet my scores on the test will be better than my "flying" partners, as they were on the first benchmark.
