I don't know where you teach but in my district our former Superintendent ~now education commissioner~has your exact ideas about school reform. All our elementary schools have experienced a lot of change in the past several years. So if you are bored in your area - MOVE. Not all states have the same style or standards.
I've been at it for 15 years and bored is just not anything I have ever felt.
So my advice to you my friend is to look for a school district whose ideals match your own.
