Clip to ScrapBook
I have a friend who went into counseling and pursued her professional credential so she could set up private practice. She is very good at it and the kids love her. However, you need to consider if you can cope with lots
of problems, many of which you will be unable to really help with. Are you good at keeping confidences? Many of the things the children say to her are often horrific (I know this not because she told me but because the children told me first). There are other specialized areas available dealing with children. Have you considered trying a different school system or school? There can
be vast differences from building to building and staff to staff. Before you chuck teaching try a change and work on your other areas of certification to broaden your choices. Think about what you like best about working with kids and find a job that focuses on that area. Good luck!
