Kelli: When I started my college classes, I found out I was pregnant 3 weeks into my first class. In my graduation pictures taken in 2001, I am surrounded by my mother, my husband & my kids and I'm standing next to that 13 year old "baby" who towers over me by 3 inches! They all helped me along that long, hard road and we're all smiling with delight that I (we) finally made it (with high honors yet!).
The experienced teachers on my team are all young enough to be my daughters, having been born after I was married, but I turn to them for help and advice. When I started teaching, I did not let my students | |
or parents know that it was my first year. I always said "This is my first year at ABC school" , which was a true statement. Don't let the age thing get in your way. I didn't! Good Luck!
