Clip to ScrapBook
Hmmmm. If the child is of school age, 6yrs. (even if they have been retained in K), they are served by Resource. I've only recently graduated 2 yrs. ago and never heard of that. This is the way it is done in this whole county
as far as I know. My certification is k-12. I thought that was rather broad too. However, there seems to be a shortage of SPED teachers in general. Our school psyc. recently mentioned that self-contained classrooms are going out and more resource is coming in. So, in the future, a child that might have been in self-contained LD, would be in a reg. classroom and served thru a greater
amount of minutes in Resource. That would mean I could have a gr. 2-3 total reading block. I would be resp. for the grade. I thought that trend was interesting. What do others think about that?
