word problems By teacher

The problems that really throw my kids are:

How many more or how many left

How many more people had on red than blue?

They always want to add this problem. An easy way to teach this is using a graph. I use our weather graph.

Addition--- altogether, in all, and, together, plus,

Subtraction- how many more, how many left, take away, went away,
