I'm glad you took such pains to decide who should go

I have seen those rooms which became the dumping grounds of the teachers who couldn't wait to have those "bad" kids out. The incoming teacher is going to have a tough enough time beginning a new classroom at this time of year without being given ALL the behavior problems.

That was done in my school last year...and even though she ended up with the smallest number of second graders they were all pistols. subs refused to come into her room it was so bad.

So I'm glad you really did a thoughtful job of selecting your students. I especially liked the part where you said that minorities didn't enter your mind you just looked at the kids. You sound like a great teacher accepting kids as kids. don't let those old crows beat down your attitude.
