Bowling

Last year we went during CSW and I dreaded it. (I hate having parents do stuff like field trips because they don't think through the whole situation.)I got teams together the day before and assigned parents to be in charge. When we got there it was crazy getting shoes and balls. I think they let the kids bowl in socks or their sneakers.
I made sure all my kids tried bowling at least one game. My first graders seemed to get bored waiting for their turn and were distracted by the snack bar etc. Some had money for snacks some didn't. Bringing food helped. Actually I had them bring their lunchboxes | |
with a snack which was good.Bringing coloring books, books or small activities helped some of the kids who just weren't interested. The only good thing is that they were all in the same building with the school so no one could get lost. All in all it was kind of fun and different.
