I can only tell you my experience but I LOVE MIDDLE SCHOOL!! I would never go back to elementary (I taught first).
Pro: The teachers at my school only teach one or two subjects. I have two. Having two preps instead
of the 8 I had at elementary is such a treat. I also have double the planning time that I did in elem. I feel I do a better job because I have more time to find lessons and hands on activities for the classes. There are other teachers that have the same students and you can look to them for guidance if you are having any problems. Also, that one child that steps on every nerve you have
in only in your class a maximum of 2 classes.
Con: You have tons of papers to grade. You have 130 kids which means 260+ parents during conference time. It takes more organization. (If you cannot find those papers, you had all day to look at elem.) You are set to that 55 minutes and do not have many opportunities to give extra help that you could at elem.
Hope this helps a little. Good luck in whatever you decide.
