    Yes, I'd call them up to your desk or some other quiet place. I'd walk them thru the test, ok on part A here's what you do....maybe even read the first question aloud while they follow along and make sure they get it...I do this with all sections. I ask which part they think is the easiest and tell them to begin there...(confidence building) I also teach test taking strategies so that they know what to do when they get stuck. Encourage them to come to you with any question they don't understand...

    now with that said, I'm wondering why their IEP's don't say "all tests taken in the resource room, tests may be read to student and a scribe may be used for essay questions."

    I would think that if test taking is difficult for the student then it should be addressed within the IEP. I would advocate for these students if I were you. You could recall the IEP or talk to the parents, tell them there are test taking concern/options that they may want to address and that it might be in their child's best interest to reconvien the IEP.
