scientific method

I use a blank form that includes the steps. I fill in the question/problem and the materials list , the children do the rest. I try to do a few sci. meth. exp. a card marking. I do this whole class. I started doing "The| Scientist of the Day" on Fridays. The kids happily volunteer in groups of 2-3 to demonstrate an experiment in front of the class, walking through the steps of the Scientific Method. I have a basket of science books I keep out on the science cart full of experiment ideas. The groups select a question usually the week prior. We make copies of the experiment and they do the planning themselves. | |
I'm a resource if they need me. The kids really look forward to Scientist of the day. If we have a hectic week, then I will sometimes fill in with an experiment.
