Thank You

Clip to ScrapBook
Thank your for all your advice. I have actually been trying a lot of hands on activities even though it goes against the curriculum that the school has in place. I would like some more help because it does seem that those
hands on activities tend to create more issues. For example today instead of just doing a worksheet that showed how to use the take away method when subtracting I used the base ten blocks. I do not have enough for each child to have their own set but I had them in small groups of 2-3. The boys did one and then began to build towers with the blocks. I have used these before and have
given them a minute or two to "PLAY" with the blocks before we get the lesson going. The girls on the other hand finished the 6 problems and had time to create their own problems. Am I not understanding how to do a truly hands on lesson? Any advice would be great. I do know that boys learn and behave differently but I do not know how to reach these kids.
