I have a couple of questions for you. Have you been open about looking for other jobs with your employer? If so have you told them that you may have to leave with out much notice? I faced something similar to this but I was open to my employer about looking for a job and that I might leave at a moments notice. I would tell your employer the truth but do it as quickly as possible. They will be in the lurch but if you do not tell them until the last minute they will not be happy with you. Hopefully you can still come out with a good letter of recommendation. Good luck and keep us posted.
