be on top of them
By valerie

Clip to ScrapBook
I had a problem with an extremely talkative class in the beginning of the year and it made me really dislike seeing them. But it's all better now that I am really on top of the talking. I cut down their warnings to only
one verbal warning and then extra homework if they got thier name on my overhead. I don't care what they are talking about. If they are supposed to be listening to me they are to ignore everyone around them. They respond to strictness and They seem to really like the structure. To start, after the bell rings, I count down from 10 slowly so that they can get their materials out and start
working on the work on the board. When I get to 0 it must be totally silent. Then, it's easy to stop the first person who even starts to talk. Good luck! I hope this helps a bit.
