I don't know what you had in mind, but how about a short piece of narrative writing where the kids have to use the words found on the "conversation heart" candies. You could give each student several of these and they need to write a story (or just a small scene) using these phrases (like "call me" or "too cute") This might even be a good way to practice correct use of quotation marks in dialogue.
