Boys By ML

I am a teacher and also a mother of two young boys. My sons have inspired me to throw out some of my traditional teaching styles so that all children in my classroom can thrive. First of all, I think it is imperative for all educators to understand that boys and girls tend to learn differently. It is our responsibility as educators to make sure that we give equal opportunity to both genders. Boys do tend to learn better with "hands-on" activities and topics that interest them. I do think some males become angry and disruptive in classrooms where they feel misunderstood. I have spent many years researching gender differences and have come to the conclusion that many practices in our schools need to improve.
