    Words of encouragement for all

Having finished my student teaching about sixth months ago, I like to read about others' experiences. I had two placements and the first was difficult. My cooperating teacher and I didn't see eye to eye in teaching styles plus I was there the last six weeks before summer vacation with a rowdy bunch of third graders to begin with. My second placement was the first four weeks with first graders who were on an extremely low level to start off. I enjoyed everyone of the kids, experienced and learned a lot. It was probably the most challenging thing I've ever done. Yes, the hours are long, plus we did a TWS which is a 60 page paper that is sent to the state board of education in addition to teaching, lesson planning, open house, swimming lessons, plus meetings with the supervisor and class meetings. I'll say it again, it was the hardest thing I've ever done. But it was also one of the most rewarding. Hang in there, because the elation you feel after it's over is worth every moment of grumpiness, fatigue, frustration, and all the other emotions going on. Keep us posted, I love reading your experiences.
