Clip to ScrapBook
I am in the middle of my first week of teaching also, but unlike some of you I have a wonderful class (no I don't have on rose-colored glasses) and a fantastic co-op teacher. I can see how difficult it would be to have neither.
The 3rd graders I have are wonderfully behaved, independent workers, and very helpful to others. I ask myself every day what I did to deserve this. I have learned that the students are not normally like this. My co-op teacher has "trained" them to be this way. (shades of Harry Wong). She took the first 2 weeks of school to teach them what she expected of them and now I am reaping
the benefits.

I do a 12 week ST practicum and must teach full-time (all subjects) for 6 of those weeks. My co-op has decided that I should do 10 weeks instead of 6. Although that makes more work for me the experience will be great!

I am tired when I get home. I commute - having to leave my home at 6:15 am to get to class by 7:30 and I don't get home until 6:30pm. Of course then it is lesson plan time, etc. But this will pass!!!

Hang in there!!
