ref: Walking out in Washington State
By Becky

Clip to ScrapBook
Today, January 14th was "A Day of Action" where public school employees from all over the state of Washington went to the state capitol (Olympia) and staged a demonstration to encourage our state legislatures to maintain a strong committment to public education. Our state is hurting financially and they're making budget cuts left and right. One of those cuts affects school employee's benefits- their health insurance, salaries-and some have lost their jobs. Funding for the public schools and school employee compensation may possibly be threatened during the coming legislative session. Basically they are requesting that our legislature uphold its promise-its duty-to continue improving the quality of our schools.
