Great book! I have read it every year outloud to my class for 5 years. Every year, the children enjoy it. This leads them to check out Bud, Not Buddy by Christopher Paul Curtis. I am currently having my student teacher read it to the class. He has been reading it silently in the back of the room just chuckling away. You have to use a southern accent and really "act" out the story.
