Shurley
By Rebecca

Clip to ScrapBook
I was introduced to Shurley when I student taught several years ago. I really like the jingles and the kids really got into them. To see them labeling those sentences and saying them in class was pretty impressive at first. However, what I saw was that the students have the same set of sentences all week. Then if I tried to give them some new sentences to do, they seemed lost. They couldn't do them. That bothered me about the program.

I teach elementary now and sometimes incorporate the jingles, but I don't do the whole program.

This was the only time I was around Shurley English so this is just my experience. I would love to hear from others though to see how it is going with them.

Good Luck with it!
