monitoring class

Clip to ScrapBook
when i have an emergency (or my colleague across the hall does) we poke our head in each other's room and make a little signal--then we check on each other's students. once she had to run an errand at lunch and asked me to bring them in if she wasn't able to get back on time due to road conditions. she wasn't. i let them in, gave them a fun writing assignment, and popped back over to my class. my colleague arrived a couple minutes later. (i teach 6th grade, and they know my expectations, so it's a little easier to leave them briefly if needed.) good luck with your situation. definitely don't mention it in the interview.
