Last year when I taught the Declaration of Independence and the American Revolution I used a large bulletin board to create a flag. I cut strips of red and white construction paper and stapled them up, 13 stars were placed in a circle on a large piece of blue construction paper. I then displayed student work on the bulletin board. It stood out and attracted a lot of attention! Hope this helps...
