Fraction burgers
By Susan

Clip to ScrapBook
Our school bought some manipulatives called "fraction burgers" and they're wonderful! They're like hamburgers, made out of thick foam. Each part of the hamburger has a different fraction (the tomato is 1/8, the lettuce
is 1/6, etc...). It's wonderful for comparing fractions and many other activities. The kids love them and beg to use them! It even comes with an activity booklet that shows different things to do with them. You can give one to each student and then use your overhead projector to show yours to work together (or buy a few burgers and putting them in groups). I don't know where to order
it from, but you could actually make them with construction paper or tagboard and get the same effect. If you want the company name of them, let me know and I'll look it up at school on Monday.
