You are not the one with the problem, he is but he is making it your problem. Well, since he has come to you then you let him know!
I just wanted to let you know that you ARE thinking right! And he needs to be told. He came to you about this, so go back to him and give him an answer---that HE needs to change, and NOW! You can just tell him that you have had time to think through all things thoroughly and you would like to discuss this matter with him. You understand his concerns and you have given this great thought. Have your grade book, make notes before you meet with him so you can cover all the important issues. Share with him your ideas and how it meets the kids' needs. Tell him that you are willing to be there for him if he needs to run an idea by you or needs to know how to implement certain techniques, etc. I wish you lots of luck. Keep us posted as to how this comes out!
