Fair Grading
By Sandy

Clip to ScrapBook
I as taught by my college professor that any failing grade, regardless of the percentage, should be averaged in as a 50%. If a child receives the following 3 grades, 30, 100, 100, his or ger grade would average out to a 76%. If the 30 grade were averaged in as a 50% the final grade would be an 83%. The struggle back from a 30% is nearly overwhelming. If a child receives all failing grades, when averaged out the child would still receive a failing grade.
