multi-aged

Clip to ScrapBook
HI
I have taught multi-aged for quite a while now and I do not teach 3 levels of any thing that I don't have to. So yes I do teach 3 levels of math but you can group so many other things together so that you don't have
to do 3 groups. For example, in reading all my kids read novels of some type...I may assign them all to biographies or historical or what ever but they're all reading and doing reading logs. The also all do journal writing daily. this allows me to call up groups for discussion on what they're reading and work with them that way. I also do this with writing. We may do a research paper.
I'll use a rubric for grading and give each grade level a different rubric. All kids participate at one time and I'm only teaching research. It works ever so much better than trying to cram in 3 levels of writing or 3 levels of spelling or what ever.
