What works for you...

Clip to ScrapBook
I think teachers have to find what works best for them in their classrooms. I had trouble keeping the weekly lesson plan pages up to date also. Now I use a clipboard with a page for every day. I made up forms on the computer
with 3 columns. The left has times and subjects filled in, with spaces for me to write in the lessons for the day. The center column is for notes: students who have resource, speech, etc., parent volunteers, things I need to do, etc. The right column has spaces for absences, tardies, and other notes. Plus it has a numbered space for each student so I can jot down observations, etc. I
also do an "overview of the week" page. It's divided into sections - one for each subject plus an extra. On this page I write down what I hope to accomplish for the week. Then I fill in the daily pages as we work through the week. I jot down things to do and remember as I think of them, so the pages get pretty full! All of the pages from the previous weeks and for future weeks are in a binder on my desk for easy reference. My principal doesn't mind my using a different system, and I like it because I always have my clipboard with me - or nearby - and all of my "notes" are in one place!
