Well, I missed your observation, but hopefully you can still use help. My kids always like division. One reason is that I teach them a mnemonic to remember the steps of division in order. We use Does Mcdonalds Sell Cheese
Burgers?
This stands for Divide, Multiply, Subtract, Check, Bring down. They think it's silly and they remember it. I have used individual marker boards for practice, which they love. One thing I do for math practice in their notebooks is I go around the room and put a check on their problem with a scented marker. For some reason they beg for this!
A game I've played with

division is to have 2 teams. Put the problem up on the board twice. Each team sends up one player at a time. That player is only allowed to complete one step of the division problem on their turn (either the divide, mult., subt., or bring down step) I include check with bring down, since there's really nothing to write for it. They pass off the chalk to the next person when they're finished. On their turn they can also correct a prior error if they see it. When they are finished, they turn around. The first team to finish with the correct answer gets 2 pts. If the other team has a correct answer they score 1 point.
I may think of some other things I have done. If I do, I'll post again.
