We don't give the CTBS at our school, but I am soooooo stressed about test scores that I can't see straight. I feel the stress all year now, even when preplanning starts before school. We go to all these meetings about
improving scores and I want to stand up and say "90% of teachers are doing all that they can do to improve instruction and if test scores don't show it, I CAN'T HELP IT!" I have a high percentage of spec ed kids in my room, and their scores are counted in with my class average, and they get no modifications! There are absolutely not enough hours in the day to get it all done. I spend

my thirty minutes of plan time calling parents at work because they don't have a home phone. Its so frustrating sometimes. I wonder if there is any other profession in the world that can be so constantly overwhelming.
